Enjoy picturesque views of this famous river flowing between mountains, experience local traditions and food, and visit the birthplace of one of the world’s most beloved drink, Port.

Stop into the town of Amarante on the banks of the river, and see the historic Monastery of Saint Gonçalo, dating back to the 16th century.

From there we will continue to Lamego to visit the shrine of Our Lady of Remédios. Enjoy an authentic local lunch with a magnificent view over the Douro and its slopes, the origin of Port wine.

Enjoy a tasting of some of the region’s finest Port before we carry on to the Pinhão parish in Alijó.
